ASEAN-Japan Youth Forum 2024: Take Actions for Social Change (TASC)
Overview
The youth exchange programme with the theme of “Good Health and Well-Being” for 2024 which fosters collaboration among undergraduate students from ASEAN countries and Japan, envisioning a peaceful world by 2050. It provides a platform for participants to exchange ideas and devise practical solutions for pressing social issues. By facilitating connections among the youth of ASEAN countries and Japan, the programme aims to cultivate a sense of unity and mutual understanding.
Important Dates
- Application timeline:
- Application: 1 May – 30 June 2024
- 1st Round Selection Announcement: mid July 2024*
- 2nd Round Interview: mid August 2024*
- 2nd Round Selection Result: mid September 2024*

- Tentative Programme:
- Orientation (Online seminar 1): November 2024
- ASEAN Field Trip in Indonesia: December 2024
- Online Seminar 2: December 2024
- Japan Field Trip: February 2025
Eligibility

- Full-time undergraduate students from AUN Core Member Universities*
*For details, please refer to the Appendix 1 attached hereto

- A citizen or permanent resident of the country that AUN Member Universities are located.
- Those who have not lived abroad (including study abroad) for more than one year after the age of 12
- Those who do not plan to leave their own country for study, internship, employment, training, etc. during the full duration of the programme
- Those who are physically and mentally healthy
- Those who have no problems participating in the full duration of the programme, including the Online Programme. Participation in only part of the time or part of the programme is not allowed.
- Those who are taking some action on their own to solve common global and national social issues, or those who have a strong interest in such issues or have a strong interest in solving common global and national social issues
- Those who are interested in international exchange and cross-cultural understanding
- Sufficient English-language skills and positive attitude to have a global communication
- Ability to understand the purpose of the programme and to actively participate in the programme. Ability to submit all the assignments given by the organizer on time
- Those who are able to prepare the necessary equipment for online exchange (computer [not smartphones], internet connection environment, etc.)
- Those who agree to allow the photographs and videos taken during the programme to be posted on the organizer’s and co-organizers’ websites and SNS etc., for PR purposes (For details, see Appendix 2).

3) A letter of recommendation from a professor or advising teacher at the university attended by the applicant
4) English Proficiency Test Result/Certificate (e.g. TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS), if available

*All the documents should be written in English.
Terms of Financial Support
Basically free (The organizers will cover *international travel expenses, meals and accommodation, and related transportation fee during the programme in Indonesia and Japan).
*The round-trip transportation fee is only from the airport nearest to your home to the venue.
